Intrigued by the ability to capture a moment in time, I’ve been hooked ever since. Over the years I’ve tickled my obsession of photography with simple point and shoots and smartphones, but never took the plunge into larger formats. I believed that to be a different league, a vastly more expensive one that only professionals wander into. In late 2016 I suffered from a stroke. Being a cancer survivor of a brain tumor, medulloblastoma, it always lingered in my mind that the life-saving treatments (radiation & chemotherapy) provided then could lead to complications later in life. This isn’t to say my dietary habits were top notch either. With some determination, a very supportive family, and a few months of physical therapy I was back on my feet again. I think Randy Pausch put it best, “We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”. Life knocks us down at times.
